World of Warcraft - Item Upgrading

The item upgrade lets players increase the gear rating of an item up 700 points, and then add a final bonus. Items can be upgraded by keeping them in inventory before heading to the kiln.

Certain items are worth upgrading because of their unique stats. (For instance the perfect broken point armor that is rolled can be used in melee PvP). Other items such as weapons don't really change after an upgrade, and aren't worth the cost.

Weapons

Upgrades to weapons can improve their numerical stats, such as attack damage, crit chance, and PvE/PvP damage. Weapons have a flat-rate bonus that increases damage per second. Additionally some weapons come with a set bonus that activates when three or more of the same weapon are equipped on a unit. This bonus can sometimes exceed the damage that a weapon upgrade alone can cause.

The cost of upgrading a weapon is based on the nature of the weapon as well as its current level. For instance the weapon with a +2 rating will require two regular Smithing Stones to upgrade while an upgrade of +3 requires four. The number of stones required to upgrade a weapon will continue rise until it requires an upgrade to a higher level of Smithing Stones, at which the number will be reset to one.

The upgrade of weapons can also change their base stats. This is usually a good factor, but it could also have negative effects. For items that only see use in a specific build (Whistant's shield for FB sorcs, for instance) upgrading them could render them unusable unless you get a fortunate roll.

Upgrades can be made to armor items to improve their performance. For example, if you upgrade a helm or chest, it will boost the defense of its base, while gloves and belts will increase their strength and dexterity. Armor also has a reroll option for its Enhanced Defense percentage, which means that it may roll back to a lower number.

The upgrade template for a weapon displays the new stats it will gain when upgraded, along with their respective values. This means that a change from a sword with 8 damage to an 11-attack-damage sword will result in a weapon gaining 33% attack damage. The 3% doesn't mean that the weapon will be hit 3 times less, as it is an absolute number.

A weapon can be rerolled by pressing the green button with arrows that circle in the menu for items. This will roll an Best item upgrader and alter its stats, but it will not reset the weapon's level or connect it to an account's status.

Armor

A few upgrades to your armor can make all the difference in your ability to survive. Certain sets provide massive increases in poison or curse, fire or magic resistance, which can make the journey through difficult terrain a breeze. The more defense your character has, the more value you can get from each point of health you possess and it's crucial to improve your armor as often as you can.

You can upgrade item your armor by visiting any of the Great Fairy Fountains. There are four Great Fairy Fountains in the game and to unlock each one you have to complete an additional quest that involves the Stable Trotters. After you've completed the main side quest and completed the fountain that corresponds you'll be able to speak to any Great Fairy to open up the menu for upgrading your armor.

Each piece of armor can be upgraded to three levels and the amount of material and Rupees needed for each level will differ. In general, you're looking at anywhere between three Red Chuchu Jellies and ten Rupees for the initial upgrade, then anywhere between five Rubies and 10 Fire-Breath Lizalfos Horns for each subsequent one. For instance the Champion Leathers can be upgraded to +5 defense, allowing you to keep pace with a large group of enemies in the majority of cold conditions, and the Snowquill Headdress can be upgraded all the way to +20 defense, providing you enough protection to survive a full on raid with a handful of friends.

You can't upgrade your armor the same as weapons. If you're playing as a Warrior then you should concentrate on upgrading your armor to increase physical power or the power of spells. It's also a good idea to save your armor upgrades for armor you'll still be wearing at the end of the game, like the Ring of Lightning and Spectral Shield, or the helmet you'll wear for the final boss battle and the Monter Parts Merchant's mask.

By giving the jeweler 10 Twinkling Titanite in Gerudo Town, you can unlock perks for your armor. Generally speaking, you'll want to keep these upgrades for the weapon you'll use to win the game like the Longsword, Battleaxe or Warhammer however, it could be useful to have a few upgrades to your chest armor and helmets to allow you to stealth around some monsters.

Potions

Potions are liquids that when consumed by the participant, produce an immediate effect. There are five types of potions with different effects and durations. In addition, there are simmering potions that are made using splash and dragon breath potions. Similarly, a lingering potions effect can be extended by adding redstone to it. Trinkets

Trinkets can be re-upgraded to a higher ilvl once they are no longer useful, and the new trinket will receive an additional bonus of 1% for upgrading. A re-upgrade, however, will cause the trinket to be destroyed unless it can be salvaged with the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit, or a higher tier salvage tool. Upgrades to trinkets can be more expensive than other upgrades, but still cheaper than buying a new one.
